Additional Pricing
Multiple Stops
+$25.00 Is added to the service call per stop if multiple stops at different locations are needed to complete the service call. This is to cover our gas and time to drive to each location.
Hourly Rate
As mentioned above, the hourly rate only comes into play if any additional work is needed outside of rekeying a lock like removing and re-installing new locks, boring holes for new deadbolts, disassembling panic or exit devices, installing door closers, etc… Our hourly rate is $80.00/hr. and we usually never need to charge additional labor unless it is necessary as mentioned above. Re-Keying and Master Keying
We charge a flat fee of $18.00 per cylinder to re-key locks. A “cylinder” is everywhere you can stick a key into that needs to be changed. For example, if you have a double-cylinder deadbolt, that will count as two (2) cylinders because it has a cylinder on each side, even though it is only one lock. We can also develop Master Key systems for your business or multi-family property for an additional $2.00 per cylinder for standard Master keying and $4.00 per cylinder for Grand Master keying. A Master Key chart will be provided to you and a copy kept on file for your convenience upon request.
Keys***
Standard house keys that we cut are only $3.00 per key and we can cut as many keys as you need right out of our service vehicle. We can order “Do Not Duplicate” keys or engrave your keys for an additional $1.00 per key. This is handy to help deter customers or tenants from going to a hardware store to make copies. Engraving also makes it easy for organizing multiple units or apartments. Depending on the brand and level of security, certain high-security keys can run anywhere from $4.50-12.00 per key due to the fact that these keys are restricted and cost significantly more for us to purchase. We guarantee that all of the keys we cut will work properly before we leave your home or business. We also guarantee our service work for 30 days. Locksets, Deadbolts, Commercial Products, etc...
Because there are so many different brands and types of locks with various functions and grades that we can order, we cannot give exact pricing on certain products unless we specifically know the item(s) we need to install for your particular job. We will provide you with an accurate estimate before we perform any job to confirm exactly what is ordered and to make sure you are satisfied with the selection and price. If we have to do a walk-through for the quote, we do charge a service call of $60.00 which is applied to the total amount of the invoice if we are chosen to perform the job. This is to cover our time, fuel, and other expenses we incur to provide this.
**If your city is not listed, please call and we will quote you the proper base rate. Unfortunately, we do not service the Cedar Rapids area at this time. Service calls are non-refundable if:
- The vehicle has damage to the locking mechanisms of the door to include latches, handles, door lock cylinders, or manual lock buttons.
- The car has no battery power to operate any electromechanical solenoids intended to lock/unlock the vehicle.
- We are unable to verify ownership of the vehicle or the customer is physically or mentally impaired to the point that it would be a liability to let the customer operate any motor vehicle.
